On January 1, 2000, the South Coast Air Quality Management District and the Ventura County Air Quality District announced that any and all pool heaters manufactured for commercial and residential use in Orange County and Riverside counties, must meet all low-content Nitrous Oxide requirements for Southern California.

Furthermore, the AQMD declared that every commercial and residential pool heater from 400,000 to 1,000,000 BTU's in these countries must be replaced with a Low NOx-approved heater by January 1st of 2006.

Inorder to meet these requirements, Pentair developed the Low NOx commercial pool heater. The Low NOx commercial pool heater. The Low NOx is identical to our regular commercial heater except for the burner tray which has been modified to meet Rule 1146.2 of the South Coast AQMD regulations. The Low NOx OVO burner is designed to control combustion for cleaner emissions, giving off less than therty parts per million Nitrous Oxide. It's hot surface igniter is made from purity recrystallized silicon carbide, designed for long-term reliablity and optimum performance. A blower forces clean air into the burner for better combustion and reduced NOx emissions.

The Low NOx heater continuously monitors negative pressure within the fan housing through an air pressure switch. The switchis located within the ignition module circuit, which does not function unless al switches are closed. Pentair's Low NOx heater also features a low gas pressure switch. The unit automatically shuts down if the gas supply drops below required factory settings.
